The most useful thing I picked up from The Annie K Communication Styles Workshop is understanding there are 4 different types of communications styles that people hold, and being able to reach different people whether they are your clients or your own employees.

It is incredibly important to be able to connect in the communication age where we are going further away from being able to connect to people in the real world. This is a great way to get you back down to earth, keep you out of that computer space and being real with your customers and your staff.

I found the Annie K Communication Matters workshop really useful especially in the area of being able to think through how to relate to different people and assess the different communication styles because we all talk and interact very differently. Some people are very direct, some fluff around a little bit more, but being able to think through that and know how to communicate more effectively with the people I work with and with clients was really beneficial.

I honestly recommend anyone who is running a business or working for a business to invest in going to one of these communication style workshops, whether its staff or the employer themselves. We asked Annie to come into the practice [to conduct a staff development program,] because we thought it would be a great idea for our staff to have some training in how to communicate with our clients more effectively and how to understand their issues – because we all have different needs and different ways of hearing things.

The outcome was really surprising. Something we didn’t anticipate was that it helped the team understand each other. We found not only did it help our staff to understand our clients, but it helped our staff to understand each other. So we are now able to work more effectively together as a team.

Anyone would benefit from doing this staff development program, particularly small business that have a team that need to work closely together, and any business that is dealing directly with clients face to face, and client services.
